There are over 100 trees at Uccello Lane – magnificent Gums, Wattles, Banksia, Olives, fruit including Cherry, Forest Pansy and Crab Apple as well as Birch– many of these are large well established trees and Trav the Treeman is a key member of the Uccello Lane Team. We try to get ahead of any falling trees. The Yellow Box Ironbark was a controlled trim involving a 50 metre crane! We also planted an orchard – including olives which are fruiting but mainly for the benefit of the birds!
Then there was the “making safe” of the huge yellow box which had slowly died and formed the end of the “La Pegola”. This involved cranes and many high up guys from Trav’s Trees – it was nerve wracking to say the least. It is now a “native habitat” and birds (mainly ducks and king parrots) sit there and use it as a look out.

Trees everywhere
But without any doubt the King of Trees is the Louis van Houtte Elm. It has “citris green” leaves and draws you to the top of the garden.
