The various garden beds or “rooms” as per Edna Walling all have a focus which helped us to decide what to plant where or else we would just be lost. With over 20 beds and “zones” the only way to do it is to focus on one area and not get distracted…so easy to do!

Let’s explore:
Perennial Garden – this has evolved to a main feature in the garden – complete with a rabbit proof fence!

Wisteria’s are throughout the garden – a very old Wisteria on the colonade at the back and with another one forming a curtain at the back door.

Roses are everywhere – over the chook pens, shading the veggie garden, covering the Rosa di Pagola and sometimes just appearing from nowhere.

Native Gardens– There are native plants and flowers in gardens throughout Uccello Lane and the plan is to have more as our climate gets hotter and water is harder to get. They include Welcome Beds, Protea Avenue & a “Native Patch” There are now some native orchids and hakea’s – plus more wattles. This is where the focus will be in 2026

Secret Garden – behind the blue door you never know what you will find.
