We have actively planted everywhere over multiple garden beds – this is with a backdrop of amazing trees and rock which were here when we came. See below some of the galleries & related links..
Australian Natives
The climate is changing – no longer can we predict what the weather will be – how much rain or will it be a long dry summer?
So for 2023 and beyond the focus at the Lane is now on planting new and maintaining existing native plants.
Think Grevillia, Coreas, hakeas, orchids – all mixed into the existing garden beds.

Perennials
A Perennial Meadow/Garden has always been on my wish list – but the right spot did not present itself until we put in the path to complete the “Edna Walling Walk” which goes around all of Uccello Lane.
We added a “rabbit proof fence” a pathway, some gates and a seat – it looks spectacular. The kookaburra’s use it as a lookout and we can now put in ground covers without them being eaten!

Roses
Roses are a must in any garden – there is a place for them anywhere even if it is just a pot! We built the Il Pergolato Di Rosa as the main feature added some more Mary-lou Pittard tiles – some seating, another bird house, an old gate, artichokes AND some more roses.
Our favorites are the climbing roses and of course Crepuscule is the best – in the chook yard and over the bird houses plus providing shade for the veggie patch.

Camellias, Rhododendron and Hellebores (The Winter Rose)
Camellias signal the start of autumn and keep on right through winter.
Rhododendron is like a winter orchid and the Hellebore is the winter rose!
