The rabbits have invaded Uccello Lane – they are everywhere and seem attracted to any new plants especially ground covers. Yes we put up “plastic” guards, made wire cyliders but in the Perennial garden we wanted to do mass planting so another idea was needsed. We good some black mesh wire that effectively becomes invisable, some tomato (and bigger) wooden stakes plus cable ties and fenced it in about an hour – it has been very successful! The kookaburras also use the gate as an observation point ready for any worm or gecko to peep out. The perennial is blooming and no rabbit digging to be see. After this we did the Secret Garden – same outcome!
