Aquilegia vulgaris is a species of columbine native to Europe with common names that include Granny’s bonnet. It is a flowering herbaceous perennial plant growing to 1.2 m tall, with branched, thinly hairy stems.
They are stars of the perennial – many colours and tall and very unusual. It looks a bit chaotic – more like a meadow but it has different colours blossoming every day – it is a treat! They are also in the Birch forest and various other places! They also self seed and appear in the most unexpected places – such as next to the waterfall!
IN the Birch Forest they have self seeded and are everywhere – white and pink.
